David Winkler

David Winkler was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1948. Now the composer lives in New York, where he earned his Doctorate of Musical Arts (composition) from Columbia University. He has written over 200 works of different genres — including symphonies, operas, concertos, chamber ensembles, piano pieces, etc. His compositions are distinguished by the widest thematic range and profound symbolics. David Winkler receives commissions from a variety of musical companies in Europe and America. Currently he is serving as the Executive and Artistic Director of the Chamber Players International — ensemble whose artist roster is comprised of twenty nationally and internationally renowned, highly professional concert musicians.
